Belarus: "Jeans revolution" against elections fraud Polish TV on 2006 elections in Belarus. Belarusian officials claim the incumbent Lukashenko, in president's office since 1994, got 82.6% of votes while 3 candidates from opposition together ca. 12%. Civilized world deemed the elections rigged, while Russia and Iran congratulated the incumbent. Many thousands of Belarusian people went out on the streets of Minsk to protest against lies and dictatorship.
Demonstration was smashed by the riot police and many activists were put to jail.
