The City of Elgin, Illinois is a very diverse community just outside Chicago. And when the city wanted to promote its culturally diverse community, they turned to Demi & Cooper Advertising to create print, TV and outdoor materials. Since we were working with a very limited budget we chose to create something that people might talk about -- thereby extending the lifespan of the commerical. The concept had to be a little risky but still convey the right attitude in a fun way. We had over 60 Elginites "kiss," and we filmed at our offices in Elgin. In one afternoon we taped people of all races, ages, religions and orientations pretending to kiss one another. From a logistical standpoint alone, getting 60 people to do anything in a few hours is a challenge -- but we organized it so tightly that it appeared to be easy. "When we were challenged with creating a memorable TV spot for the City of Elgin, we kicked around a lot of ideas.
