It appears that Chile's geographical isolation from the world's leading industrial and cultural centers has limited knowledge of the country among many people elsewhere. To remedy this situation -- and in keeping with the world trend to consider a country's international image a relevant component of its competitiveness -- the State and the private sector have come together to create a Chile brand, which will help strengthen the country's messages abroad and allow more effective use of the resources dedicated to communication and marketing. According to its creators, the "All Ways Surprising" motto integrates three broad ideas: the country's breathtaking, diverse and unusual geography; its warm, efficient and enterprising inhabitants; and its stability, openness to the world, solid institutions and people who are true to their word.
